Homework PolicyStudents have nightly homework. They will be expected to read 20 minutes a day. This 20 minutes needs to be not only being read to but also them reading out loud.
Students will also have nightly math homework. They should bring their homework home finish and return the next day. This is for participation only. All homework sent home is based off of what we learned in class either that day or what we have been working on through the week. This means that homework is viewed as practice. Unless we are working on individual projects, homework will be sent home to be finished, checked by parents to see if they notice any teachable moments, then turned in to me to review. Dress CodePlease send students with a coat daily. I believe it is better for them to have it and leave it in the room rather than need it and not have it.
Hats and hoods will not be allowed in the school besides out at recess. Please do not send students in flip flops. Even on days that they do not have P.E. they do have recess and flip flops are not the best shoes for being outside playing. |
SnackWe will have a snack every day. Students are expected to bring their own snack. I will not be providing snack for students who do not have snack. Snack must be a healthy snack and only one item.
BirthdaysStudents will be able to bring treat or snack to share with the whole class. They can also bring their favorite picture book to share with the class.
